Midnight

Midnight

A Poem by Aurora Preiz
"

I want to write a series of poems based on a book series. So this will be the first of the High Lords poem series.

"
tread carefully
his eyes burn
the walls are smashed.
a million midnights
blur together

invisible chains clatter
blood bathed vision
slaughter the guards
paid for in a million midnight deaths

the bell tolls
ties pulling him
to this death
only six strikes

one
ROAR
he's struggling
losing control
breaking the bonds
and tearing the chains

two
voices flood her mind
drowning in past talks
punctuated with loneliness

three
his friends hold him back
a pile of punches
"restrain him"
She's the cause
take her away.

four
bringer of
blessed silence
grab on
hold him tight

five
he's losing it
burning red eyes
long claws
protect her
don't let her go

six
sacrifice
break the bonds
tear the chains
so much blood
save her

ties to midnight fall
hallow happiness
a bloody broken body
dawn will greet one
