A Poem by Alex J.
"

A poem for the people who raised me to be an individual, only to eventually try and force me to conform to their beliefs.

"
Tell me I'm worthless,
It means nothing now.
Your words are trite,
they fall to the ground.
They hold no water,
empty threats all the same.
I take no medicine,
and renounce my name.
You are cruel, you are broken,
and you broke me too.
But I've found someone,
who has a pocket of glue.
Curse me for leaving,
you can't catch me this time.
I'll slip through your fingers,
like the fine sands of time.
You pushed me, and pushed me,
But i'll never change.
I am not what you created,
I'm me all the same.
I can't help what I am,
I can't help who I love,
But I can stand for what I believe in,
I won't stand and shrug,
as you take all I hold dear,
and toss it away.
Apparently, I never meant much to you anyways.

Author's Note

Alex J.
I don't edit my poems, I just sort of scream on paper.

Well, maybe it's just a scream on paper, but I know the feeling!
