it's in our nature

it's in our nature

A Poem by livemorbidia

A hand outstretched
The fingers clinch
To grip at a feeble answer
to a question on every one's mind
But we come to find no answer
can ever truly comfort us
So with trembling lips and bloodshot eyes
We call out to our maker who ever they may be
Just to hear them say it
But with ears open we hear nothing

We are All stray dogs
In the ocean of time and space
paddling and floating like drift wood
In this place where no one could
grasp even a thin concept
of nothingness when we go
So we invent until we are content
with the ramblings of a lunatic
displayed in a big black book
but still everywhere we look
There's doubt and nonsensical holy wars
Over who's religion is right
alas we as humans only want to fight
It's in our nature

love the flow of words here, and the internal rhyme. Nicely done! you paint this picture well and I happen to agree whole-heartedly. We grasp for answers, however feeble, and are willing to die to defend those answers because we are weak, and afraid, and it is our nature.

Thanks for the read
