Prision Cell

Prision Cell

A Poem by allonsy_doctor

Cold

Broken

Left alone

There is nothing left to love

There is nothing left to hate

There is literally nothing left

but bars

and darkness

I'm stuck in the darkness

I'm all alone

I'm not lucky

like the others

whom got cell mates

here in this prison cell

alone

unwelcome

pain

bleeding shame

for something

I didn't do

I was listening to Jonny Cash's "Falsom Prison Blues" and got an idea for a non-rhyming poem. (Note: I often don't rhyme...)

Sometimes rhyming is the only way that a poem will sound right. On other occasions, rhyming will screw up the whole thing. I like this piece, it fills the reader with a long dark dread and hopelessness. Good write.
