Did you Know?

Did you Know?

A Poem by Jeff Brown

All the things I never told you,
how many did you learn?

So many things you never said,
so many of them I still learned.

Did you know that you only smile when you want to prove a point?
Or that you only loved me when you felt insecure?

You loved me way too often.

Did you know that a shy little girl still tells you what to do?
That I'm entirely done with you,
and her,
and the way you could never understand that it was never a question of "good enough"?
That before you ran, the only one ashamed of you was you?
That the only person you ran from was you?
