Love is Patient

Love is Patient

A Poem by Jesus & Gypsy Soul

Restless as the dusk sets in
I ache without my love again
For what heart should bear a soul split twice
Each night without you I pay the price

It’s suffocating and cold without you here
I open the window; breathe in midnight air
Yet while the present seems so unclear-
I drift away, missing you my dear-

Think of the stars shining for you and for me
The moon hanging tight to fond memories
My love for you extends galaxies
Love is patient enough for a century.

A well rhymed piece here. The impression is that the current separation is not the first, and that the resolution of it is yet hanging in the balance. Still, faith is present here, as well as love. The speaker is not likely to give in to despair.

I felt a sense of hope as well as sadness. As if love was realized and also unrequited. Thank you for sharing your work.
