Cold

Cold

A Poem by Lloyd B. Wolf

My heart is cold, so I buy some
warm drink hoping it will help.
It doesn't as I sit here;
lonesome soul in this bustling
cafe'. I watch as bright souls
around me bounce against each
other.Happiness,sadness,some
lonesome just like me.They spark
and sputter, and some burn out.
But some burn ever higher.

My soul was just like theres
once,when it had clashed with
yours. My heart was not cold at
all, the flames kept it safe and
warm.Saints behold! no greater
love existed.Our souls were
twinned,fates entwined,and
somehow it got twisted..

So now your soul has flown
away,my heart grown cold, the
embers dead.All I am is a
lonesome soul, and still it waits
for you.
