Ashley

A Poem by oscar

You'd think that time would ease this pain
But every day just accumulates
And I find myself slowly being strangled
I wish sometimes we could relive those days
Watching you out of the corner of my eye
While you slowly strummed that guitar
You were the first to break this territory
The first marker of love
A lifetime ago, split into a second
A different person who smiled at me so lovingly
My god I miss you
No words can describe how sorry I am
The emptiness staring in the void
That fear gripping my heart and squeezing till life is gone
I've built the foundation upon you
And your crumbling has left me a shell of a man
So now I gaze to the east
Pulling that sun to free my heart
To teach me what I've forgotten
