The work of a bartending, music major

The work of a bartending, music major

A Poem by Maxis

When five am becomes the norm
The social structure is torn

Paying rent is the only thought
And work becomes the epitome of stress
Sleep, the only solace

Relationships fade and pay stays the same
Any change causes anxiety
A biproduct of society

The music a straight tone
While waiting vibrato

You wait for inspiration to come
But silence stays with you

You play the same old tune
After work on summer nights

The strings sound alive
Then slowly fade into your mind

Tonight the song will not be writen
It is the work of another day.
