Volatire's Companion

Volatire's Companion

A Poem by Lolu Suhail

To visit Babylon , i always dreamed of
For its History and some Mystery
No one to accompany , i waited for one
Waiting for companion , My eyes closed
Under the shade , waiting for companion
In dream i dreamed
Horse galloping , faraway
In fog i tried to see
Stopped, infront of me
Towards me , not alone
with Book of Fate , in his hand
Take my Horse , he opened his book
Out came , King , slave , Wise , fool
This , this your companion
Take him , my treasure , ride on , my horse
For no one knew , Babylon
Euphrates , and the streets
Better than Zadig
And thus disappeared
Volatire , leaving me , not alone
With companions , of his own ....

Certainly a very interesting piece. It can be interpreted many different ways. The only thing in way of grammar that I caught was that a few "I"s were not capitalized. The pacing and sense of the poem were very good, and it is more of a fantasy poem, which I love :) I love the way that you used some symbolism in this piece. Weather or not you meant the poem to have a literal meaning or many different non literal ones, I'm not sure, but it certainly was a good poem. Where did you get the inspiration for this?
