How soon will you forget me?

After I am taken.

How soon will you forget my voice or the color of my eyes?

The shape of my lips and how they meet yours.

The softness of my skin and the way it feels against yours.

How soon will you forget my voice?

The way I speak. The way I laugh.

How long will it take for me to fully leave your heart?

How soon will you move on?

Will you love someone new?

Tell them the things you told me?

Touch them the way you touch me?

How soon will you be able to love the way you loved me?

How long will it take for you to stop thinking about me?

For you to stop dreaming about me?

How soon will you fall out of love with me?

I will never stop loving you.

One of my favorite poems from you. You've captured, simply and beautifully, what many of us have felt, whether a first love or last love. Your last question hits hard, but it's fair. Your last line conveys the human spirit--hope. We love because we hope it will be returned. Nice work, again!
