The Great Escape

The Great Escape

A Poem by look.both.ways

My hands are shaking,

My mind is clear.

My bones are breaking,

The end is near.

I'm falling, silent.

I see the ground.

The screams are quiet.

No noise, no sound.

The rush, the sirens.

I see the lights.

People surround me.

Nothing is right.

I'm in the room again.

No escape.

I'm bonded to the bed again.

No escape.

They shoot me up again.

No escape.

I'm still alive again.

No escape.

Gee
I was expecting Steve McQueen but ended up with images of you strapped to a trolley in a mental institution, blank eyed and lifeless
