You Are a Joke

that everyone gets but me

you are a joke i do not understand
everyone is laughing but me

you are a weekend that never ends
but i am not a party

you speak lovingly
so much so that i cannot imagine being without you
until i look in the mirror
and see what you have left of me

you are one way glass
i cannot see you - not always anyway

sometimes i am lucky enough to forget you even exist
until you and i are intertwined once again

you leave me breathless
friendless
hopeless

but you never leave me

This is honestly my anthem right now. This poem described what i am going through perfectly! Sometimes i wish they would leave but when they do go, i hope for them to come back soon. And once they return, i wish for them to depart. Oh how sad life can be... I'm looking forward to reading your writing!
