hard to love

hard to love

Was I that hard to love?

Taken for granted. ..

 Broken hearted...

Vital organs feel permanently damaged. ..

Like a black hole in space. ..

There's a vacancy in my soul...

You once filled that space. ..

Erased...

Like yesterday's math problem from the chalk board...

I thought you were so soft...

Turns out you're as coarse as cardboard. ..

It's not always easy. ..

 But I've survived..just fine...

Yet you're never far from my thoughts. ..

All these tears later...

You ripped me apart. ..

Yet in a small way you still hold the key to a small piece of my heart...

I finally realized that I don't need that piece...

It's yours to keep...

I hope you cherish it...

The way I do the fond memories. ..

I let go of the negative. ..

I hope you had that strength too...

I hope you smile when you reminisce about me...

You played a significant role in my growth. .

I hope I, for you. . did the same....

I wouldn't trade our time for the world. .

Even though I know the ending of the story...

Given the chance, I'd do it all again.
