When We Were Young

When We Were Young

A Poem by Shelby

Playing and frolicking in the leaves.
Laughing and giggling in the sand.
To be a kid again and have no worries,
About being accepted and looking good.
When mommy dressed you in the morning,
And everyone was your friend.
Now we are stuck pretending to be what were not ,
Just so others will like us for who we are trying to be.
