A Rant

I don't know reading a story about how Miley Cyrus is voted worse influence ever on our children, and the Egyptian black out of the internet...just got me thinking....

This is the worst generation ever,

yea, I've heard that before

only difference is it's not free love this time

they've learned an important lesson

the tales from yesterday wasn't lies

just wove in a way for the real message

to go unseen, for a while,

I've heard people my age

the ones who knew how manipulative

their parents, their education, their religious sects,

and even their governments were,

talk about their children as if they were dog crap or

worse a dollar sign

for some reason one day we all just fell asleep,

and as they changed the story lines

we kept on marching to their lies

into a hole where we are now giving our freedom away

for security, imagined at that

It's time to awake and realize why our children are bullies

take a few steps back and look at us

We, ourselves, are not far from "witch hunting,"

We take a Disney child, put her on a pedastool,

turning as a mob toward her with torches in our hands

when she grows up and starts experimenting,

expressing herself, no longer worrying about us to please

Are we that ashamed of our own past?

Are we that afraid?

That we can't alllow communication to be shared

through trials and tribulations,

Instead a iron fist blocking everyone

from even their loved ones

while a history is in the making

Is this really what we wanted

when we dreamed yesterday

Our children learn from us

they are what we create

I pray I never underestimate fear

nor give in to that fate

Great Rant!

As far as Miley Cyrus goes...well,
It takes a village to destroy a child.
I mean, look what we did to poor little Lindsay Lohan what with our never ending lust for entertainment.
In a world of ever higher levels of 'communication', it's becoming easier to see the consequences of our civilization.
We will have to start over, I suppose.

There are very strong and important statements made in this piece of writing and most of them I agree with. we have fallen asleep and how can we prepare children for the future if we don't give them the correct tools or keep them in a social vacuum. The world is a scary harsh place and we need to give our children the tools to deal and cope with the world that will one day be theirs.

Tis a rant indeed, but an understandable one, the world as a whole seems to be on a downward spiral spinning out of anyones control, blame the parents,teachers or goverments it matters little dont change a thing does it? well written emotional piece
