hospital bed

hospital bed

A Poem by Jessie Dana
"

2007

"

i lay entwined

and i keep yours for mine

write across my window paine

all these things that i can't say

but i want to

the sweet smell of flowers can't save me

the needle pushes me in

i need you

but these drugs they keep me here

helpless on a hospital bed

lock up your mind

 don't stray away from me

sweet sanity

all i know is disappearing

my hilucinations

try to piece them together

you cannot be found

in this nightmare

the drip of the i.v. keeps me alive

the machine i'm hooked up to keeps time

of my heart beat

i pray i don't die

all alone

here without you

sick

stuck

here

in this hospital bed

try to piece them together

you cannot be found

in this nightmare
