A Sorrowful Tale

A Sorrowful Tale

A Poem by Luissanto
"

A story of innocence ripped away

"
His innocence taken
not given a choice
For he did not matter
not given a voice

Needing someone to love
needing someone to hold
If he was so young
then why feel so old

Where were his parents
nowhere to be found
He tried to cry out
but could not make a sound

Needles and bottles
all over the floor
Too weak to walk
he crawled to the door

Too numb to feel
too tired to cry
Would God see his pain
If he looked in his eyes

Could go no further
his time had come
He laid on the floor
he knew he was done

His eyes slowly shutting
his heart slowing down
He would die all alone
with no one around

Hopefully, one day
his parents would see
He had to die
so he could be free

With pain in his heart
he drew his last breath
A sorrowful tale
of a little childs death
