Promises

Promises

A Poem by Lunar Lightning
"

When someone promises you something you expect it to be kept correct? Well one day you will be sick of being let down....

"

Each time I hear your voice it makes me want to cry

I want to put on a happy face and tell you I'm fine

But each time I hear your voice I am reminded again

Of every promise you never kept of every lie you ever told

Your deep smooth soothing voice that seems to caress my very soul

How could it be such a comfort yet so covered in deceit

This game is growing old My Love it is time that you grow up

Take responsibility for the promises that you always said

Remember how you told me you would never hurt me

Well here I am crying over you again

There is my blood spilling for you and for your lies

My faith in you is fading though my love for you remains

Oh how sick I am of you pathetic little game

I am not a toy and my heart is not just a piece

From this day on your promises are nothing
