Misplaced Moon

Misplaced Moon

A Poem by Lunar Lightning

The moon is out of place in the darkness of the night

It glows with such beauty that it could never belong to the night

For the night is full of horrible things

Things that make people dream bad dreams

But the moon is a lovely part of the night

Misplaced and radiant of a hopeful light

A promise that day is soon to come

To save us from this night of fright

The first line was my favorite. ;p

Loved this piece. :) It is true that the moon does seem kind of misplaced on some nights, but what about the nights where it fits in perfectly; a night with mist floating just above the ground near an old abandoned pond with clouds hovering before the moon, shadowing it out before it comes back into view. This piece was very well written and gives a good meaning on that even if things seem out of place, there is still a logical reasoning behind it. :) Good job.

Great poem! Makes complete sense. I never thought of the moon being misplaced but your poem explains very well. Love this piece! :)
