like silk resting on his books.

                     Long, searching fingers

     s    p    r    e    a    d    i    n    g

                                 pages --

                                     tracing them

(I like to imagine)

with the intensity and sensitivity

of attending glistening orchids.

 

STRONG hands

Soft like porcelain smooth --

all           sandwiched       in

bound leather:

 

                          Stark

against the patterns of blue risen ribbons along his

hands.

(I like to imagine them)

like silk resting on shoulders.

I like this piece. It could almost be naughty if read just right. Or it can just be a respectful description of his hands. Since you put in "I imagine" it could be whatever you imagine.

Wonderful use of the physical spacing of the letters themselves, props on that. But, however it may betray my tastes, I find the images of these hands to be spidery. Strong spider, soft spider, and so on, perhaps...

Then again, I see Dead Men's hands, and they're awfully spidery.

Oh, and spiders make silk, wouldntjaknowit?
