Anguish

A Poem by Tiff-AH!-knee
"

I don't know if this is good or not, but I really am trying, here. i worked really hard to make this sound good.

"

He holds his gun to his side, and a tear slips from his eye.

His best friend is gone.

He feels the anguish, and sadness,

and yet at the same time, remembers the happy times,

and the good things in life.

His wife is home with a round belly,

and his son is finally starting school.

He will leave this horrible place, filled with despair, soon

and he will leave with pride, for he has served his country

and that is what he came for.

The soldier holds up his gun, and runs on.
