Waste

Waste

A Poem by Lisa Williams

I wish that you existed and were here

right here

here

with me.

It seems silly that you don’t

that you’re not.

It seems like such a

waste.

A waste of everything.

A waste of

me.

I wish that I existed with you

that we could be

not-wastes

here

together

in the world.

I wish.

I wish.

I waste.

I really like the ending in this poem "I wish. I wish. I waste." it sums the whole thing up and rolls nicely off of the tongue. It's funny how much time we as people waste trying to wish our will into existence rather than actually trying to actualize it .
