Wonder

Wonder

A Poem by Arsenic Alyss
"

Inspired by the painting 'Wonder' by transcendental artist Alex Grey. See image.

"

why was it named the moon?
it is a smooth stone, rippling in space.
she looks for her thread of sky
in the illustrious blue lattice of night.

maybe that thin cord was cut
when she tumbled small into tears;
maybe she is a floating cell
in the blood of this one soul body.

now it falls fine and gold
in strands, her soft glowing hair
now she could be a tree branch
hand raised up to seize a star.

wonder if there are aliens watching
with three eyes and no tongues;
wonder how so many silver eyes
can rest still open, and wait.

if there is this spoken god
he could be jolly plump like Santa,
wiser than her father,
or crueler than any living stranger.

the transparent child rests still,
eyes wise, blue with glowing fibers,
thinking herself into spider webs
while the dream world pays no mind.

Beautifull written, Claire. I love the lines "In the illustrious blue lattice of the night." You created very strong imagery and the description is flawless. Great write!
