This is about when I found out that my grandma was about to die, on my birthday no less, and I wouldn't leave my room, because I wasn't allowed to see her.

I turn on the switch

Nothing

I am alone in the dark

 

I open the window

Blackness

I am alone in the dark

 

I call out a name

Silence

I am alone in the dark

 

I scream out to God

A smile

I am not alone in the dark
