Happy Sad

Your smile,

Your laugh, 

Everything about you..

You wrapped me around your finger

as if you actually wanted me.

You made me fall for your trap 

and now I can't go anywhere,

because if I do, 

I won't be happy,

but if I don't,

I will be sad.

Even when I try not to,

I think about you.

I try not to think about the happiness you brought me

and then destroyed.

I try to think about my grades, 

my family, anything but you.

I smile when I think about you,

because you will forever be my everything.

I still smile, 

even when you hurt me,

broke me, 

and destroyed me.

I can't help it. 

You make me happy.

But you also make me sad.

Telling the reader the events and thoughts that spawned these layered emotions was done well but the words used to describe these feelings (happiness, happy, sad) make your emotions seem small or simple even tho I doubt that what you felt was small or simple (this is just my opinion). Those words do make an interesting title tho. This is crazy good considering that this is your first piece ever! I'm exited to see your future work :)
