Ole Man Trouble

Ole Man Trouble

A Poem by M J Hutton

00.43 am
Sipping ale,
Again,
Watching Jason Bourne 1,2 & 3
Seeing myself
All Matt Damon.
Yeah me
Amid all the bravado
Fisty cuffs,
Bloody nose
Bruised knuckles
All those things
I've long since
Aspired to move on
From.
MSN news headlines,
Starvation,
Nuclear declarations,
Ice cap meltings
12 year old fatherings
Swine flu, Dog flu
KFC Bird flu,
Yet,
We've more chance
Of dying in a car pile up
Than a sneeze
Or a cold.
And then there's this woman
Bankcrupts my life
At the age of 40,
Reminds me of who I really am
Reminds me of what
Love could be all about
Kicks me in the head
Of where I'm really at
To endure without her touch
To continue without her mouth
On mine,
Forever,
Till I die,
Is something I have to weigh up
Headphones in the Imac
Inevitably
Turn to Otis Redding on
I-tunes,
Singing down the cord
Ole Man Trouble,
I've Been Loving You You To Long
These Arms Of Mine
My Lovers Prayer......
Thought about a cup of tea
To nullify
The beer,
F**k that
Open another bottle....
