The Ravens Crest

The Ravens Crest

A Poem by Justin Fearn

Natures wonder, crystal stare,
Reflecting in a’ Chuilinn’s glare

Perched aloft Càrn's craggy spire,
The Ravens bathe in evening fire.

A swift and sudden easterly blast,
Heralds Valhalla's ghostly past.

"Now awaken from your conscious confine,
Be restored - both - Thought and Mind"

"Cover every mountain peak, scout every forest deep,
Bring me them for whom I seek"

With a sharp shrill they off, the Ravens pair,
Descend thru icy mist laden Lochan air.

Heading west over boggy marsh,
Beyond Glendale, laid barren 'n harsh.

Atop sodden landscape lurches,
Amongst the frosted lowland birches.

The Ravens search.

As the highland bitter night draws near,
The Ravens call become more clear.

Over Allt through Glen they came,
As Huginn 'n Muginn called each by name.

More and more the caucus grow as laid
down by some ancient law.

Now the whole of greater Fraser waits the
Ravens crest, emboldened on Odin's chest.
