The Wind, Susurration

The Wind, Susurration

A Poem by Matt Sayer

Petals prance like deer in spring,
Caressed by gusts of butterfly wing,
In evergreen trees the hummingbirds sing,
In tune with bees: love's honey-sweet sting.

The wind steals your voice, and whispers to me,
'cross diamond-topped mountain and sapphire-kissed sea,
Through fields dipped in amber and ruby and jade,
To strum soft my heartstrings with love's serenade.

Now a winters heart, longs for spring,
There to be, rejuvenated, and to sing,
To feel the little creatures, within the spoken words,
To smell the air, of love's roads...

This is brilliant poetry my Mattie, (Mattie) means, friend,
In Caribian Dutch language... ;)

I don't know what it is.... but you have
swooned me away again :)

This is a refreshing, flitting moment that seems to carry me as a bird's wing might. The splash of color and sparkle of imagery is only suited to a imaginary meadow filled with that, 'honey-sweet sting.' You painted up a glass orb, teeming with life, which we can enter into- if only for that moment

Quite nice, it is very pleasantly visual. I like the compactness of this poem.

Susurrus is one of my favorite words to say...it's just beautiful that whisp whisp whispering on the wind.

I love so much of language in this piece but that sapphire-kissed sea is so inviting. Your poem murmurs with

the promise of blissful existence. It is a stained glass poem.
