Human

Human

A Poem by humanofthe-year

Sometimes I forget that I'm human
And that I'm not just a shell of the empty soul that resides inside me
I forget that the body that holds me together is also the body that could break me at any second
And I forget that I'm entitled to feel
And I forget that being sad is okay
And I forget that being human doesn't have any guidelines and that life is a book that we write as we go
I'm scared
But life is too short for me to push the ones I love away because I'm too scared to deal with them
I don't feel worthy of anyone
I feel as if I annoy everyone
I want to start over
But I'm afraid it will be the same wherever I go because although I am a part of a species that functions primarily the same way, I'm not in the slightest way human

About
My writings are usually a representation of how I feel. If you don't like it, don't read it. I love poetry, but I have trouble writing it unless it's through inspiration. Let's be friends :) more..
