Happy Birthday, I miss you

Happy Birthday, I miss you

A Poem by amomentforus

I’m going to call you on your birthday,

hoping you won’t pick up, to leave

a voicemail, an eternal plea.

To that young part of my heart that still loves you

immortality, alone could answer the call

to keep us there and save us

the time and space wasted,

pretending we never were

more than friends.
