Conversations We Could Have Had (A Series)

Conversations We Could Have Had (A Series)

A Poem by amomentforus
"

nonense, but isn't that what the most of this thing we are doing is

"

“Looking at her from across the platform,

God, I don’t think

we had never been farther apart”

“You didn’t want to wave or something”

“What would have been the point?

She was too far away to see

any details. And if I had raised my voice,

others would have been brought into it

"So you just stood there?"

"Stood and looked."

"Was she looking back at you at least?"

"Yea, the whole time really, but we couldn’t actually see each other,

then the train passed and

we weren’t sure how to break eye contact"

"No reprieve from intimacy."

"Oh, none of us really want that

now, do we?

Better to be crammed against the glass of each other’s hearts."

"Maybe it is just the glass in front of their eyes"

"Trap me there then too, I’ll be more beautiful, either way

we won’t be able to help trying to steal a final glance as the train pulls away again."
