The Owl

The Owl

A Poem by Crysta K Coburn
"

I wrote this after an encounter one night after moving to Ann Arbor.

"

Inky spectral fingers rise against the indigo sky

A coiled light casts itself coldly from the side of the road

A flutter, a tremble, a shadow as the fingers sway above

Two eyes set within a muddy silhouette look down

Are you a friend or a warning?
