Trouble

Trouble

A Poem by mala
"

This is about a man I developed a physical... then emotional relationship with. We were both emotionally unavailable. I still am. He is now back with 'her'.

"
In the beginning of anything new,
It's easy to believe nothing will ever feel true,
So why didn't I believe you when you said we'd be done- you were always right on que.

You wear this look about you so tall and strong,
Your abs are hard, and your face prolonged,
Your hands are rough, your eyes are weary,
Your heart is big, but your mind is dreamy.

Perhaps we started off in a sexual fairytale,
The younger girl, the older male.
I was promiscious and you were fresh,
Together in bed, our bodies would mesh.

Every Saturday morning,
Right on que,
I'd be lining up my bras, knickers and my shoes,
You'd escort me out there door,
A forbidden kiss- next week some more?

During the week when loneliness would appear,
You'd read the signs but wouldn't dare come near,
When beer mixed with tobacco, and a hint of confidence,
Your logic would forget her and remind you of me.
So quickly- reality escaped- like I was your freedom key.

And then s**t hit the fan, and you raced off as fast as a horse,
She's calling you up- she found out about us- of course.
Amy's song 'Back to Black', is evident of the trust we lacked,
I hear she's leaving, and will wait for you.
You'll see me and expect the same old routine, but I should be done with you.
