Baby Girl

Baby Girl

A Poem by Mariah Renae
"

Poem about the origin of my name.

"

My mom took so long to pick my name that they

almost wrote Baby Girl on my birth certificate. It was

really important to her that my name fit an artist, doctor, or CEO.

It was really important to her that it not be nickname-able,

after all my name is my name, not anything else. I can

happily say I like the name she chose. It's

refined and simple and

elegant and me. It’s just the right

name for an artist with big

ambitions, a girl with a healer’s heart, an

entrepreneur ready to take the world by storm.
