Jack of all Trades

Jack of all Trades

A Poem by MJ

JACK OF ALL TRADES (Apprendiz de Todo, official de nada!)

By: MJS/June 3, 2008

I was the generous Lady Bountiful

But found itching palm

I was proclaimed Miss Congeniality

But once suspected in for it

I was a Queen of Black and White

But defamed of snatching my David and Jonathan’s writes

And I was trying to build a good name

But dubbed as mad as March Hare…

I’ve been a judge

But never hit the nail on the head

I’ve been a business tycoon

But caught on a pretty kettle of fish

I’ve been to a lot of a drop of the creature

            And lasted as lame duck

And I’ve been always breaking new ground

But lasted always in flying a kite

I could be J-lo, having plaques of Oscars

But always been less than the cheapest of those precious stars

I could be a famous West End performer

            But maybe I’ll receive scorns

Or could I be an in demand interpreter

But just have the world’s cheapest rendition

Or could be a Math Wizard

Who can receive honor in just one nation?

What should I do to overcome these heart injuries?

Take plan one, always breaking a new ground?

Or achieved plan two, take heroin and nail in one’s coffin?

Much better to throw those schemes

And call Jack Ketch to launch me to eternity.

Or shall I go to Jericho and meet the Old Harry?

Whew! How I am depraved

When I knew I am just Jack of all Trades!
