A Poem by Marian Elizabeth
"

A poem from my collection "Between Anorexia and I"

"

Anorexia whispered once the tale of her waltzing slippers;

How they suffered seeking grace in the empire of arts.

Only nartakis danced as flesh fought the brims of skirts; no lithe ballerina existed;

Ana appeared with skin of lotus, eyes of lanterns, diamond dress;

With her abiding en pointe, girls succumbed to her ballet.
