Morning Dreams

Morning Dreams

A Poem by Marius Negulici
"

We all experienced losses in our lives. Some of them define us for what we are. This poem is about such a loss and the feelings created by it.

"

I wake up in the morning, without knowing why,

I wake up in the morning, just wanting to die,

I wake up in the morning, the sun burns my skin,

I wake up in the morning, hoping it’s just a dream.

I wake up in the morning, it’s you I want to see,

I wake up in the morning, a fire burns in me,

I wake up in the morning, to douse away my flame

I wake up in the morning, to wash away my shame.

I wake up in the morning, the walls crumble on me

I wake up in the morning, drowning in the sea

I wake up in the morning, hoping I’ll be saved,

I wake up in the morning, hoping I’ll be dead.

I wake up in the morning, calling out your name

I wake up in the morning, caressing your picture’s frame

I wake up in the morning, I’m trying to be brave,

But then again I realize, I’m nothing but your slave.

I like the repetition and the overall cadence. Very powerful promotion of this relationship. Summed up greatly...:)))

My name is Marius and I write poetry. I can't say I am really very talented but, you know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I feel poetry to be a mean for me to express myself and my feelings. I .. more..
