The man

The man

A Poem by marlayesterday
"

Just a light little poem. I am practicing my rhyming and flow.

"
Hold out your hand,
they said to the man
most gracious in his giving.
With a friend like that,
they tip their hat,
it'll make a right fine living.

So the man pours out,
as they all jump and shout
He gave with a caring passion.
With all that he had,
things could never get bad,
and they'd never be out of fashion.

He loved them more
that was for sure
than they would ever see.
With all of their asking
and getting and basking,
they'd never have a cause to flee.

He gave and he spent
laughing and went
to the bank to withdraw more money.
But the teller looked round
said sorry I've found
not a penny, oh it's not funny.

So the man went round
where his friends could be found
and told them his life's dilemma.
But as he looked by
for his friends at his side,
they disappeared, a great enigma.

Very unusual poem-great message-shows your adaptability. Your poetry covers such diverse topics and always provides an interesting story as well as beautiful lanquage and meter. Well done, indeed.

Thank you so much! :)
Through thick and thin ...seems most people will always be around when times are good and flee when all changes. Once again, love your endings. They read like a short story. You defiantly have found your voice and it is a joy to read.

Reminds me of "the prodigul" son parabel. This is alas an eternal truth.
It's good to reminded of things now and again.
