Caged Song Sung

Caged Song Sung

A Poem by Monty.
"

it is as it is.

"

The caged bird gently weeps
As it sings of it’s captured freedom

Her flying carelessly has come to an end

Her cheery singing has become the unhappy song
Of living day to day behind thin cage bars

What keeps her going is the promise of the
Playful sunlight streaming through its window
And of the stars that become its friends twinkling and smiling
Upon it as they shine in the day & night sky

Her tiny tears go unnoticed
By all who hear her near & far
Her wings lay to her side
In a mournful state

She’ll never feel the wind of flight beneath her wings
Or hear the hearts sung by the others

She’ll sing behind her bars
For all to hear

For all to ignore
Her pleading song of
Wanting freedom.

This poem is brilliant. It's very emotional and makes me wonder about my own freedom. Sometimes we are trapped, with no way to get out. Sometimes we only live for the small things that are simple and yet very dear as you have said:
"What keeps her going is the promise of the
Playful sunlight streaming through its window
And of the stars that become its friends twinkling and smiling
Upon it as they shine in the day & night sky"

This is very well written..keep up the great work!
