Why do I?

Why do I?

A Poem by marshyman
"

A poem asking why we do things

"

Why do I try so hard to please everyone?

Instead of trying to push through and carry on.

Why do I work so hard I can’t move anymore?

I try to be the best, why, I’m just not sure.

Why do I need to prove to them all?

That I’m not weak but rather ten feet tall.

Why do I struggle all in vain?

The end product is just the same.

Why do I fight to carry on?

If at the end it is all gone.

Why do I need the cheers and applause from the entire crowd?

I should be happy with just your cheers out loud.
