A Poem for People Like Us

A poem for the people who would take being a geek over a jock any day.

Here's to the kids who sit quietly in the back,

Who most people don't notice and are alright with that

Here's to the ones in more clubs than they can count,

Who won't rest till next summer and have much to account

Here's to the ones in the advanced classes,

And aren't always the ones with the braces or glasses

Here's to the ones in orchestra or band,

Who spend most of their time in front of a music stand

Here's to the ones who dream of poems and stories,

Who think a writing assignment is far from boring

And here's to the ones considered nerdy and weird,

Who despite all the hate, are still standing here

Ah! Cheers to those who play video games, Beating the boss and saving the day, To those who draw up a storm with just pencil and paper, To people like us who'd save the best for later, To those of us who would take a dare, watch facial expressions and just laugh like you don't care. I really like your poem though, it describes so many characteristics. Very interesting :)
