Joyful Summer

Joyful Summer

A Poem by Marty Weil

Plunge into the cold, cold water,

fall heavily.

Splash among the purple-wing’d King-fisher.

Plumped over head and ears into the water.

Plumped into a crystal pond

like a heavy penguin

stone-like from the rock into the gulf.

And like the rain,

a vast shower-bath.

The ducklings

into the water

feeding on midges and flies.

A mind full of nothing,

falling into a chair,

at the end of a joyful summer day.

That is a poem so well expressed. You have described the summer as a consistent nature observer. Very nice write :)
