Ginkgo Tree

Ginkgo Tree

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Ginkgo Tree

When you’re in nude

Having shed your yellow leaves

I remember my own letting go

So that in winter, I may find peace

And hibernate my own search for renewal

When I see your bare branches

I recall the naked truths

I sometimes find

Beneath the foliage of my experience

Beneath the foliage of my experience

The stroke of breeze

Crystal clear and unobstructed

Much like the way

Perhaps the dream of you

Remembers today

And me loving you
