Monster Under The Bed

Monster Under The Bed

A Poem by secretlyme

The monster lazily licks his claws
Flicks his tail against the walls
And hungrily watches the boy and his teddy
Come stumbling in and get tucked into beddy
While his mother and daddy are still awake
The monster lies under the bed and waits
But when they’ve finally gone to bed
The beast rears back his ugly head
His slimy paws snatch boy from his crib
And you hear a scream, the crunch of ribs
In two seconds, the boy is dead
Eaten by the monster under the bed.

My goodness Annie, that's some vivid poem. Reminds of when I was a little girl and scared of the dark shadows in my room. Guess we all feel scared and vulnerable at times and have monsters under out beds just ready to pounce when the dark times come. I hope you don't have any right now.

About
Hey! I'm Annie :] I love to write. Which, y'know, is sort of obvious. I write poems, stories, and sometimes, when I'm in the mood for it, song lyrics. I have a weakness for chick flicks and romcom.. more..
