Change of Seasons

Change of Seasons

A Poem by mathiasthom

Turning inside out,
storm on the horizon
Wind screams in anguish,
as the sun hides behind the clouds

Not going anywhere,
wrestling with this umbrella
trying to gain the upper hand
sporadic drops of rain,
descending like laughter

Nature will always find a way
to gently chastise, it seems
the sun reappears,
a quiet moment so serene
Yet the wind kisses
with a playful tease,
and an undercurrent of winter
is waiting in the wings...

Dancing in a circle
with this inverted umbrella,
laughing with frustration
as the wind refuses to die down,
Stripping the neighboring trees,
of autumn colored leaves
ushering in those greying days,
of November...
