Hollow Head

Hollow Head

A Poem by mathiasthom

Starting not to love you
from way deep inside,
a smothered spark has died,
don't exactly know
the reasons why...

Could it be the way you insinuate?
that look in your eyes,
just resonates with hate...

All this weary life
have had to deal with judgmental fools,
double standards, shallow rules
Step on people to get ahead,
impart your wisdom
from a hollow head

Starting to absolutely despise,
the empty vacancy in your eyes,
Wonder what has happened
to this beautiful person,
that once was an honor to know

But too much of a good thing
causes the scenery to wither
Promises broken,
discarded tokens,
once were diligently made...

Say anything to save face
Awkward moments out of place
Hard to believe a brilliant mind,
can be heartlessly unkind
so empty and hollow,
blood coursing like lead,
living inside a hollow head

Wonderful. Well written, great imagery and figurative language. Horrible sentiment, but in a good way, if that makes sense - not something I'd like to think about, but true and real nonetheless.
