A Cold Winters Night

A Cold Winters Night

A Poem by matrix101

Darkness upon Darkness,
the Night has fallen,
Surrounded by beauty,
On a Cold Winters Night.

The Moon gives light,
as I walk through the woods,
Surrounded by beauty as my eyes are in awe.

Mountain ash trees & weltered bark,
a picturesque lake not far away,
a Blue stone wall with Iron gates,
Lay memories from those before.

Enslaved are my eyes for what stands before me,
Like scattered pearls untouched by man,
from the skies above on this mysterious night,
Tranquility descends that envelopes our minds.

Like strangers we stand as our souls connect,
for they have once met in a life before,
our eyes speak of unspoken words,
as my heart beats the closer she draws.

Surrounded by Creatures in the shadows of Night,
I held her tight like vulnerable prey,
depart we did as our Souls remained,
Dancing to the sounds of the Cold Winters Night.
