day after day

day after day

A Poem by Freedom's Child

A man is born into a blueberry field
Day by day picking the berries from the stem
Beautiful clouds come and go
Watching the sun ride the ferrous wheel
Still picking berries by the stem
The field half dead
Not many berries in the basket
The sun still on the ferrous wheel
Beautiful clouds have come and gone
Yesterday the last berries picked
Today only a rotten field
Tomorrow he never works again
Today is the image of tomorrow
If the image ends there can be no tomorrow
