New Year for Me

More than just a holiday.

Everybody is in red,

because red is the colour of luck,

the colour of joy,

the colour of love.

Children are running around,

shouting,

playing,

asking for red pockets.

Adults are drinking tea,

laughing,

relaxing,

talking about their lives.

Elders are sitting down,

smiling,

blinking,

looking at the fruit of their effort.

This festival has a special power,

which it can use to attract people to come around.

It did not only give us the chance to rest,

but also a chance for families to reunite.
